For the third consecutive year, the ETIS team at Measurement Incorporated (MI) was asked to assist in the management of the New York State Education Department’s Annual My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Symposium.

“Established through former President Barack Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative, the symposium serves as an important statewide effort focused on addressing persistent opportunity gaps affecting boys and young men of color,”

said Job Thomas PhD and Vice President of Evaluation and School Improvement Services for ETIS, a division of Measurement Inc.

“ETIS is proud to continue to support this important work which brings together students, educators, families, and leaders committed to creating brighter futures across New York State.”

The annual symposium emphasizes leadership, opportunity, resilience, and collective empowerment for black and brown youth. Sessions throughout the day reflected those priorities, covering topics such as FAFSA access, mentorship, leadership frameworks, and educational equity initiatives.

“Supporting an event of this scale and prestige required extensive planning and coordination before and during the symposium,”

said Thomas.

“I’m extremely proud of our team and all the hard work that went into managing the more than 1,000 participants who attended from school districts across New York State.”

ETIS assisted with the assembly and coordination of registration materials and provided frontline support throughout the event. From welcoming attendees into the space, to addressing day-of registration hurdles and questions, the registration process served as many participants’ first interaction with the symposium experience.
