Monica Baron is an experienced, certified school administrator and teacher with an extensive public and private school background in instruction, special education and regulatory compliance.  Throughout her tenure, Monica has served as an active member on school leadership teams, facilitated Professional Learning Communities, implemented Response to Intervention, and developed, presented, and implemented staff training with a focus on improving delivery of pre-referral services.  Her presentations include: ESSA, Graduation Requirements, Blueprint for Improved Results in Special Education, Next Generation Learning Standards, Legally Defensible IEP, Developing High Quality IEP’s, Transition Components of the IEP, IDEA Reauthorization Training, Impact of IDEA on General and Special Education, and Implementing Test Accommodations for Students with Disabilities.    She has extensive expertise working with students with diverse needs and is passionate about bringing change to improve student learning and outcomes.  Monica is also a seasoned Committee on Special Education Chairperson, Director of Special Education, and building Principal who has done extensive work and professional development around IEP development and implementation with teachers, teacher assistants, paraprofessionals and related service providers.  Presently, Monica works within MI’s Evaluation and School Improvement Services division supporting the Capital District Regional Partnership Center as a Transition Specialist.
