Misty Dormady is a dedicated educational professional that brings over two decades of experience with comprehensive knowledge of post-secondary transition planning, school processes, behavioral disorders and disabilities, special education eligibility, the development and implementation of the IEP, classroom curriculum design and management, and structured support for English Language Learners as well as facilitation of professional development and technical assistance regarding the IEP process and transition services for students with disabilities. She spent two years as the Special Education Coordinator of an alternative high school and fifteen years as a special education teacher and case manager in both traditional public schools as well as alternative education programs. Misty has also worked in the transition field with adult service providers as a job coach, residential instructor, and case manager supporting adults with developmental disabilities. In addition, she has worked in the behavioral health field with adults with severe mental illness as well as with adolescents in drug and alcohol recovery. She has extensive expertise working with students with social/emotional/behavioral challenges as well as working with culturally and linguistically diverse students and brings a passion for improving outcomes for all students. Currently, Misty works within Measurement Incorporated’s Evaluation and School Improvement Services division supporting the North Country Regional Partnership Center.
