Our Team

Kathy is a veteran public educator with 31 years serving urban and suburban communities as a teacher, teacher leader, staff developer, and assistant superintendent. Kathy has a wide range of experience in professional development, curriculum, assessment and data, effective teaching and leadership.  Her work in school improvement has addressed strategic planning, staff and community engagement, assessing and improving school climate and culture, and effective leadership. 

 

Expertise PreK - 12:

  • Curriculum planning, development, evaluation, and implementation PreK - 12  

  • District and school improvement planning with multiple stakeholder groups (including RtI, AIS, PDP, Technology, APPR)

  • Chief Information Officer:  coordinated all data collection and reporting, data analysis, testing and reporting

  • Teacher/Leader Effectiveness (conducted performance reviews of administrators, teachers, teaching assistants, and clerical staff)

  • Professional development coordination

  • Coordinated elementary summer programs and 6-12 Summer School

  • Facilitated district committees, ELA cabinet, district meetings and forums

  • Mentored administrators and curriculum specialists

  • Technology initiatives including budget, purchasing, installation, implementation, and professional development

  • Student information systems

  • Supervised district tutoring services, GED, and alternate education programs

  • Home schooling (requirements, student residency, parental questions, and CPS referrals)
